phlegmatics

image from p2.xanga.com

They’re sometimes known as peaceful phlegmatics. They “go with the flow,” they are easy to be with because they are peaceful and they refrain from conflict. As much as possible, they don’t want conflict.

They procrastinate and tends to be lazy. They are a perfect match to Cholerics since they’d just agree on whatever people tells them to do. They need the drive and motivation of a choleric and cholerics like it because they want to command and control.

They seldom lead. Most of the time, they are ashamed of leading. They don’t want to be in front, they don’t want to be noticed. That’s why they need uplifting, encouragement, motivation. If you’re a boss to a phlegmatic then you should notice their work. If you do it, they will do and work more.

They are relaxed, good under pressure. But they seldom take responsibility because they have a lot of fears and their self-esteem easily drops.

Temperaments: Cholerics

cholerics, corporate, workaholic

Who are the Powerful Cholerics?

Strengths:

  • Hard workers
  • Strong willed and decisive
  • Exudes confidence
  • Not easily discouraged
  • Insist on production
  • See the whole picture
  • Motivates family to action
  • They’re usually right

Weaknesses:

  • Compulsive workers
  • Prideful
  • Manipulative
  • Impatient
  • Overbearing, controlling
  • Choleric- they don’t really make friends.

Cholerics like to see results and challenges and they hate inaction. They command a lot, demanding and tends to control people. Cholerics suddenly blurt out because they are frank. They think instantly and after a second they have already spoken it without any concern of other people’s feelings.

If we would just understand that they don’t mean to hurt, it’s just that they speak it out then we wouldn’t be upset, hurt or angry at them. Yes, it’s not their intention to hurt but a lot of times they hurt people. Cholerics have the drive to do things and they achieve far more than any other temperament but this is tiring for others. So they need to step back and say “I’m sorry” to people whom they’ve hurt – and they hate this word. They don’t like to say sorry.

Cholerics would improve much by listening to people’s concerns and by saying sorry.

How to Motivate them?

Cholerics will say, “I like to control and change things. I fear of having no challenge.”

So give them the job. They enjoy working since they are task-oriented, goal-oriented. They are motivated when they see progress and achievement. You don’t have to baby them. They just need to know the goal and they’ll accomplish it.
